My Approach to Therapy

I strive to offer therapy that is curious, culturally sensitive, authentic, and grounded in evidence-based practices. My work is eclectic, meaning it integrates modalities such as Cognitive/Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (CBT/DBT), Psychodynamic, Attachment, and Family Systems work. The reason I borrow from many modalities is to be able to serve my clients in a way that best works for them. I believe therapy should feel like a partnership: supportive, reflective, and also practical. Together we’ll identify the internal and external factors contributing to your distress, trace and untangle their roots, and practice skills to help you regain a sense of agency and confidence.

I don’t think therapy is something everyone must do. But I truly believe that everyone deserves, and can benefit from, a space that helps them understand themselves more deeply so they can live more intentionally and authentically.

Anxiety & Internal Pressures

Anxiety often shows up as overthinking, self-criticism, and the constant pressure to perform at a high level. Together, we’ll explore what fuels your internal stress. Whether it’s perfectionism, fear of failure, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome or the nonstop mental load that comes with being a high achiever. Therapy can help you build tools to quiet your mind, regulate your nervous system, and create more balanced internal expectations. Over time, you’ll learn to respond to pressure with more clarity than overwhelm, and to relate to yourself with more compassion, confidence, and calm.

Relationships (with yourself & others)

Research has shown that the quality of your relationships is a predictor of physical health and longevity. It’s also the key to a happier life. But healthy relationships with others start with how you relate to yourself. In therapy, you’ll work on understanding the patterns, narratives, and emotional dynamics that shape how you connect with others–partners, friends, family, and/or colleagues. Whether you’re navigating conflict, communication challenges, boundary setting, or the desire to feel more secure and seen, this work helps you build deeper self-awareness so you can create more fulfilling and affirming connections. Incorporating attachment styles, we will explore both the internal and external relationship patterns impacting your life so you can show up with greater honesty, security, and authenticity.

Identity & Culture

Your identity shapes how you move through the world. How you see and interpret relationships, values, and situations. I understand the complexity of navigating multiple cultures, expectations, and senses of belonging. Therapy provides a space to explore identity questions, cultural transitions, family dynamics, and the pressure to hold many roles at once. Whether you’re adjusting to a new environment, unpacking generational messages, or seeking clarity about who you are and where you fit, our work together helps you strengthen your voice, honor your lived experience, and feel more grounded in your identity.

 FAQs

  • I am not currently in-network with any insurance providers. That being said, I do provide a superbill at the end of the month which you’re able to provide to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

  • A superbill is a detailed invoice outlining the services you receive as a client. It’s essentially a receipt for therapy. Superbills can also be referred to as a claim form, fee ticket, encounter ticket, invoice, receipt, or statement of service. The superbill includes all the information needed for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

It is your responsibility to call the number on the back of you insurance card to get information about your benefits. Submitting a superbill to your insurance does not guarantee reimbursement.

Some questions to ask your insurance provider that may be helpful are:

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • How much of my out-of-network deductible has already been met?

    • What is my policy period?

    • How do I submit for reimbursement?

    • How long do I have to submit my superbill?

Note: you are responsible for the session fee at the time of service.

  • I prefer to meet with clients weekly for the first month to assess fit, and level of care. After that we can discuss the appropriate cadence for our sessions.

  • Generally speaking, therapy sessions are at a weekly cadence. This ensures a continuation of care, and aids in rapport building. There is no set amount of time any one person is in therapy. The duration of treatment will be discussed on an ongoing basis, and will be a collaborative process.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
